To raise, and maintain, awareness of the UK as the best place in Europe to start, grow and headquarter an innovative tech company on behalf of the Department of Digital, Media, Culture and Sport and the Digital Economy Council. With new tech hubs emerging across Europe, the task was to ensure that the UK and its successful tech ecosystem continues to attract foreign investment and talent on an ongoing basis.

Action

Using data from analysts Dealroom, we create regular reports on the current state of UK VC investment, tech sector growth and the availability of roles and initiatives to increase tech skills across the country. These reports have been supplemented with UK-wide regional roundtables, at which industry experts, investors, founders and policy makers can air the challenges involved in building a successful tech sector and share best practice. To keep the conversation on UK tech going, we have created data-backed news stories around specific sectors and emerging technologies, as well as on jobs, skills and regional developments.

Result

The success of the UK’s early stage tech sector is now much better known across the business and regional media and our regular reports are a recognised barometer of UK tech for journalists, investors, entrepreneurs and policy makers.
