Founded in 2000, General Catalyst is one of the world’s leading ventures and counts the likes of Airbnb, Canva, Gusto, Stripe and Snap among its portfolio companies. After opening a new office in London to be closer to the exciting developments in European tech, the fund was looking for a PR agency with reach across the continent that could help it build a name away from the US.
Armed with a strategy plan focused on making General Catalyst known as the early-stage investor funding companies that transform industries, we set to work creating a series of compelling media pitches and story angles that would demonstrate the fund’s experience and its founders’ trajectory. This helped us to secure several journalist meetings to build GC’s profile in Europe, supported by strategic news announcements about the fund and portfolio companies and thought leadership pieces. An events programme focused on owned and earned events, such as appearances at Slush and annual networking drinks, means that GC remains top of mind for reporters focusing on European tech.
Since working with GC, we have been able to secure slots at leading European conferences including Bits & Pretzels, Money 20/20 and VivaTech, landed briefings and interviews in Bloomberg, Handelsblatt, FT, The Sunday Times and Sifted, and podcast appearances on the 40 Minute Mentor and Healthtech Hour, with many more lined up for the future.
